December 2013

On December 7, 10:00 AM, the Masonic Lodge invites the public to attend the installation of officers at Schieffelin Hall. For more information contact Kenn Barrett at kenn.barrett@msn.com

On December 7th the Tombstone Vigillettes are holding a toy drive. We encourage you to donate unopened toys, for any age, to be given to families in need in Tombstone.

The Tombstone Chamber of Commerce, together with the Vigilantes, will be walking in the 55th Annual Christmas Lights Parade “Cowboy Christmas” in Sierra Vista on December 7th starting at 5:30 PM. All entries must be illuminated, so come see us SHINE!

On December 13th, the Tombstone Singing Cowboy will be performing at the Tombstone Grand Hotel at 8:00 PM. Come, listen, and relax while listening to a local sing.

On December 13th, the Tombstone Historical Courthouse is holding its annual Luminaries event from 6:00-8:00 PM. Due to the lack of response last year Santa will not be there, but the children have a chance to see in at Santa in the Park later in the month.

On December 14th, Tombstone is going to be an eventful town. Three major events are happening this night. Starting at 5:00 we will start off the night with carols from the high school chorus and holiday music played by the high school band. Next is the Tree Lighting located on 5th and Allen Street. The parade will be marching along Allen from 6th to 3rd street at 7:00, but line up begins at 6:00 at the same corner in front of the City’s Public Works building. It is encouraged that not just businesses and groups participate, but individuals as well. Think a local Helldorado parade, but with lights and holiday cheer. The deadline for registration is December 6th. Now is the perfect time to go out and get your lights, with Halloween just around the corner. After the parade, it is time for the fireworks to light up the night at 8:00. This year we don’t only have ground works but aerial as well. Looks like something good came out of the stormy 4th of July. Come and be part of the fun for the night.
